My Least Favorite Thing

Everybody has some household chore they rather dislike, don't they?

A friend of mine once said she'd rather clean 20 toilets than do laundry.

If you've read my blog for awhile, you know I love doing laundry.

But I bet you didn't know that I really don't like to unload the dishwasher. *GASP*

If someone ever asked me "which would you rather do, scrub the bathroom or unload the dishwasher?" (which is pretty unlikely, don't you think? Being asked that question? I mean what are the chances?) I would pick cleaning the bathroom, hands down. Or gloves on. However you would say that.

I like loading the dishwasher, but for some strange reason I just really don't like unloading it.

So tell me. 'Fess up. What chore do you really dislike? And no, you can't say "all of 'em."

If you've never commented before, now's your chance! It's easy. Click on the comment link at the end of the post. When the comment box pops up, type your comment. Then, either fill in your "identity" (if you don't have a blogger identity, it's very easy to set up. It will tell you how to do that.) or you can choose Anonymous. Let me know you're reading!

  1. Because I don't have laundry machines of my own, I would have to say laundry is the worst. But that would be different if I had some machines in my home. My other worst, is washing dishes. We don't have a dishwashing machine, just a dish washer and clothes washer named Ross (because I hate it). I would rather scrub...anything really.

  2. Oh Anna,
I'm so sorry you have no washing machines!
But jealous of you that Ross will do that...Dennis doesn't know how to run either the washing machine or dishwasher, and apparently is also unfamiliar with operating the faucet on the sink...

  4. I have to agree with you about unloading the dishwasher (I think we've had this conversation before). But I certainly don't love the laundry like you do! It is better than unloading the dishwasher though!

  5. I also don't like unloading the dishwasher, or putting the clean laundry away. Thankfully Corey is a GREAT help, and he does those chores!

  6. This is so ironic, I have been busy cleaning today and I was just thinking that I hated cleaning and was going finally add something to my blog. I guess we sisters think alike. I would totally agree with you that unloading the dishwasher is not the funnest chore. My worst thing that I hate to clean is the bathrooms. I hate how much work it is and that it never seems to stay clean long enough.

  7. Dusting! I probably should dust every day because we live in the "desert." Our yard consists of sand with some weed plugs to make it look kinda green (or brown if it hasn't rained.) And there's a dirt road that runs to the north and east of our house. Don't ask me how often I dust, because I would be embarrassed at my answer and you would probably say, "WHAT?"

  8. Ahhh, I, too, hate dusting.
You should try my method: blow it. And occasionally swipe at it with my hand, which then gets wiped on my pants.
I should say for my mom's sake that I was trained better than that, but it has become a mode of survival...

  9. Most of the time, when I dust, I use spray or a grab it, but if no one is going to see the spot, no lie, I will leave it. Every time I don't dust under things and move things, I do think how I am glad my mom isn't watching, and how she'd make me do it over!! AH! (and it makes me feel like I am getting away with something! tee hee)

  10. Melissa I am the same way! I prefer to clean toilets to anything almost. My mom always said I didn't like the "dry" cleaning. I hate unloading the dishwasher.
And I can't really comment on dusting, because I never do it.

  11. Sorting socks is up there with my least favorite activities. The kids do it and I make it into a math activity. :o)
