Philippians 4:8

I was up long into the night
mulling over some incredibly cruel and hurtful things said to us by a friend.

This morning I was reminded that
Whatever is
~TRUE (emphasis mine)
~noble
~right
~pure
~lovely
~admirable
~excellent
~praiseworthy
think on such things.
paraphrase of Philippians 4:8

I know what God has asked us to do--
and what this person has decided we should do is in direct contrast to that.
I know what is TRUE
and I need to focus on that.

Praise God for His True and Holy Word.

  1. I am so sorry Meilssa. Sometimes friends can mean well but end up saying things that hurt us. But I am glad that you remember that you have to follow the convictions God has given you! He will always lead you in the direction you are to go. You are so right praise God for his True and Holy Word! Hugs to you!

  4. I think what you are doing is wonderful Melissa. I LOVE this verse(one of my favorites!) and certainly have had to meditate on this many times too.
As you prepare for your next baby...look into the eyes of your kiddos, and think about the choices you and your husband are making in obedience to God--THAT is this verse being lived out...pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, praiseworthy...
Do not be discouraged, dear sister, because there will be a reward for your faithfulness--greater than you can ever imagine!
Praying for you as you prepare your home and heart for this new little one~
