This is Ivy
throwing a fit on Sunday morning.
(and that's my foot in the lower right-hand corner
as well as the bedspread on the left for the more thorough and curious reader)
Thankfully, mercifully, virtually all of my children
have had silent meltdowns.
As in, when said child has had enough or disagrees with my
assessment and/or handling of a situation
the child will from time to time throw themselves down on the floor
and just lay there.
No screaming or tears--just face down on the floor.
There is no kicking involved, but a variation may include
the flexed ankle, as evidenced in the picture below.
This scenario may last for a minute or two
and since they get no reaction from me
they get up, with their "reset button" apparently pressed,
ready to proceed in obeying Mom.
And that's how Ivy throws a fit.
I like that way a lot better than how our kids throw theirs :)
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of the silent fit. I've had all screamers here. I'm certain that this summer my neighbors believe I am running a torture chamber in my house. And of course we have no a/c, so the windows are open ALL the time! :)
ReplyDeleteAh, my last one is a foot stomping cryer.
